Celebrating 60 Years of Fun, Friends + Frames

Pla-Mor Lanes has been part of La Crosse’s bowling story for nearly six decades. Originally perched above what’s now the Popcorn Tavern, the alley rolled into its forever home at 807 S. 4th Street in 1965 — keeping the city’s love of bowling alive and growing.

Today, Pla-Mor is more than a 16-lane center; it’s a community hub. Kids learn the sport through our Sum-Mor Fun program, local schools pack the lanes for field trips, and our youth bowling leagues award scholarships to help young bowlers aim for big futures. We’re also proud hosts to student bowlers from UW–La Crosse, Viterbo University, and Western, and the official home of the Viterbo V-Hawks bowling team. Throughout the year, Pla-Mor buzzes with tournaments, special events, and the long-standing tradition of USBC-sanctioned league play for hundreds of local athletes.

Pla-Mor Lanes remains a favorite destination for bowling, food, drinks, leagues, celebrations, and family fun—still proudly serving the south side of downtown La Crosse after all these years.

A group of six people standing in front of a brick bowling alley sign that reads "Pla-Mor Lanes." Overhead neon sign says "Open Bowling." The group includes four women wearing purple shirts with white text, a man in a blue shirt, and a woman in a red top with white shorts. They are all smiling, standing on the pavement outside the bowling alley, under a parked reserved parking sign.
